Technical Director

Nazri Nasir

Our Technical Director, Nazri Nasir, is a former Singapore national team captain (1998–2004) with 110+ international caps, an S.League/Singapore Cup title, and AFC Champions League experience. Nazri has an AFC Pro Diploma License and has 20 years of experience coaching youth football, the Singapore national youth team, and the Singapore national team. He focuses on discipline, intent and competence, players centric approach and holistic development. A respected developer of young talent, he brings elite-level credibility and a strong network across Singapore football to guide the academy's next chapter with proven coaching experience in Japan.

His playing style philosophy: attractive, progressive and intelligent football, built on Victory Through Discipline.

His mantra: Developing players. Building character. Winning together.

Head Coach

Rafi Ali

Rafi Ali needs no introduction. One of Singapore's finest footballers, he was capped 78 times for the national team and played a key role in the historic 1998 Tiger Cup-winning squad — before that, he was the creative central midfield playmaker behind the legendary 1994 Malaysia Cup “Double-winning Dream Team.”

Since retiring, Rafi has become one of the region's most respected development coaches — shaping youth football island-wide as Head Coach of the ActiveSG Football Academy and through his own Rafi Ali Soccer School. He holds the AFC Pro 'A' Licence, the region's highest coaching qualification, and previously served as Head Coach of Tampines Rovers in the Singapore Premier League.

Development Team

Guiding Every Stage

Coach Hafizat Jauharmi

A former Singapore national player, Hafizat brings top-level playing experience directly into his coaching. At Island City, he is focusing on technical growth and tactical understanding as players move from foundational training into more structured, competitive elite football.

Coach Zul Nor

A former Singapore national player, AFC B License holder with extensive coaching experience at youth and club level, Zul brings strong tactical insight to every session. He is known for his discipline and his ability to develop players’ game intelligence and character.

Coach Indra Putra

Indra is a current player with Singapore Cricket Club in the SFL, bringing an active, up-to-date understanding of the modern game to his coaching (AFC C license holder). He is guiding players through the early stages of their development with a focus on ball mastery, coordination and a genuine love for the game.

Academy Manager

Shafiee bin Mohammed Zahid

An AFC C License holder, Shafiee is an experienced coach and academy manager with a strong background in football operations, program administration and coach development. He manages Island City’s day-to-day academy operations, coordinating programs and working closely with coaches, players and parents to create a structured and positive development environment.
